Shaw, Larkin too much for Guilford

ROCKFORD - Jalen Shaw scored 31 points to lead Elgin Larkin to a 70-60 win over Guilford in the Vikings' gym Saturday morning.

The win evened the Monarchs' record at 2-2 in the tournament with one game to play. Guilford dropped to 1-2 and has one game left.

Larkin used a stifling defense to take a 10-point lead in the first quarter. Guilford rallied to within three points in the second half but could get no closer.

Shaw, a 6-10 center, hit on 14 field goals and was three for five from the free throw line. Kashmir Ivy added 16 points for Larkin and Anthony Lynch had 12.

Sha'don Clanton led Guilford was 21 points and Nick Phillips added 17.
