Hyde Park remains perfect in Tip-Off Classic

ROCKFORD - Chicago Hyde Park improved to 5-0 in its second trip to the 205 Tip-Off Classic by holding off Rockford Jefferson, 45-43, in a turnover-filled contest.

Hyde Park won the 2015 Tip-Off Classic with a 4-0 record. This year, the Thunderbirds came in for just two games, both today.

Jefferson led on only two occasions, early in the first quarter and briefly in the fourth quarter. Hyde Park held the J-Hawks off at the free throw line, hitting 12 out of 15.

Andrew Anderson led the Thunderbirds with 15 points. Travis Ivy and DaQuan Fairley had 10 each.

Quillen Dixon led Jefferson with 13 points, including scoring nine points in the fourth quarter to keep the J-Hawks in the contest.
