Pike shuts down Auburn

ROCKFORD - Pike won the 205 Tip-Off Classic rubbermatch with Auburn in a game where points were precious.

Auburn knocked off Pike in the inaugeral 2014 Tip-Off tournament before falling last year. In this contest, the two teams combined to score just 40 points in the second half. Pike held the Knights down without fouling, getting called for just two personals in the second half.

Pike won despite making just one three-point shot. Isiah James, a 6-6 forward, had a couple key offensive rebounds on free throws against the undersized Knights. James was the only player from Pike to score in double figures with 10 points.

Thirty of Auburn's 40 points came from just two players. Tenoah Tatum had 16 points and Terry Ford had 14.
