St. Rita beats Belvidere, remains undefeated

Chicago St. Rita ran its record in the RPS205 TipOff Classic to 3-0 Wednesday night with a 71-50 victory over Belvidere at Jefferson High School.

Jordan Matthews scored 18 points to lead St. Rita, which previously had beaten Freeport by 27 points and Guilford by 23. Jeremiah Oden chipped in 16 points for the Mustangs and Landen Gladney added 12.

The Mustangs have tournament games remaining at Auburn at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at Jefferson at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Belvidere was led by Shawn Dean's 16 points. Austin Hausen added 10.

The Bucs dropped to 0-2 with tourney games remaining with Chicago Perspectives at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Guilford and Madison LaFollette at 4 p.m. Friday at East.
