East blows out tired McArthur

East rolled up a 23-8 first-quarter lead and never looked back in picking up its first win of the season, 67-36, over the McArthur Mustangs of Hollywood, Florida.

McArthur, which faced Auburn, Larkin, Whitney Young and East in less than 48 hours, finished its second RPS205 Tip-Off Classic with an 0-4 record. The Mustangs were 3-1 here last year.

The E-Rabs led 42-15 at halftime and 53-31 after three periods.

Scott Gowan hit four three-pointers and led the E-Rabs with 19 points. She'den Clanton had 14 points and DeVontae Sims added 10 for East, which had nine players in the scoring column. Jacob Narvaez had nine points to pace McArthur.

While McArthur flies home for Thanksgiving, East will host Elgin Larkin at 5:30 p.m. Friday to wrap up its tournament play.
