ROCKFORD - Chicago Clark's Cordy "C.J." Johnson poured in a 205 Tip-Off Classic record 35 points to lead the charter school to an 83-51 win over Guilford.
Johnson had 17 of his points in the first half, despite this the Vikings took a 33-32 lead into halftime. Bryson Hodge, who had 29 points against Elgin Larkin on Monday, had 13 points in the first two quarters.The third quarter was all Clark. The west side Chicago school outscored Guilford 22-5 and continued to pour it on in the fourth quarter. Johnson had 10 of Clark's 22 points in the decisive quarter. Johnson broke the record of 33 points by East's Sincere Parker set back in 2018.
Mikqwon Jones added 14 for Clark, which was playing its first game ever in the 205 Tip-Off Classic.
Hodge was the only Guilford player in double-figures. He finished with 17.
