Larkin goes on late run to beat Freeport

ROCKFORD - Elgin Larkin scored 20 of the final 25 points to pick up its first win, 72-61, over Freeport.

The Pretzels, who dropped to 0-3 in the 205 Tip-Off Classic, seemed to have the momentum when Keandre Wade scored on a layup to give Freeport a 56-52 lead. Elgin Larkin, through responded with an 11-1 run to pull away and even its record at 1-1.

Vic Perez led Elgin Larkin with 18 points. Pierre Black scored eight of his 15 points in Larkin's 27-point fourth quarter. Marcus Green and Jashon Johnson-Neals chipped in 14 points each.

Kijuan Burns led Freeport with 20 points, but he had only two of those in the fourth quarter.
