It was ragged, but Guilford led the entire game in beating a short-handed Elgin Larkin team 52-41 in the final game Wednesday of a Tip-Off Classic triple header.
Larkin played without starter Armani Ivy, who was held out of the game by the Larkin coaching staff. The Royals tied the game at 2, but could never lead. Both teams are now 1-1.
Cinco Gary led Guilford with 15 points. The Vikings were a man down as well. Mekhi Doby, who was first team All-NIC-10 as a junior, missed the game after spraining his ankle Tuesday night. Darnell Wilder had 13 to pace Larkin.
