Chicago Bogan blitzed the illness-ravaged Harlem Huskies in the first quarter and then held off several challenges in the second half to win 54-44.
Jamell McLauren scored eight points in the opening minutes as the Bengals raced out to an 18-3 lead. Harlem only had 10 of its 17 players available because of a flu bug running through the team, including three starters. Bo Beehler settled the Huskies down by hitting three 3-pointers in the second quarter.
Still, Harlem never could cut the lead under eight. Harlem fell to 0-4, while Bogan went 3-1.
McLauren scored 16 and Tarell Harding 15 for Bogan. Beehler led all scorers with 23 points.
