Jefferson holds on against McArthur

ROCKFORD - Jefferson picked up its first win under coach John Rossato, 63-61, by barely holding off a furious rally by Hollywood McArthur.

The J-Hawks led the Mustangs 51-35 after three quarters, but shaky free-throw shooting opened the door. The Mustangs had the ball and a chance to shoot the game winner with 1.9 seconds left, but Jefferson broke up the inbounds pass.

Sophomore Latrell Graham led Jefferson with 14 points and Horace Massey had 13.
