Rockford Public Schools has worked hard to build its annual Tip-Off Classic into a showcase featuring some of the best talent in the Midwest. Here is a look at where some of the 2014 and 2015 Tip-Off Classic participants are playing this year.
2014
Delundre Dixon, Auburn, Division 1 Chicago State
Antoine Pittman, Auburn, Division 1 Bradley
Laytwan Porter, Auburn, Division 1 Northern Illinois
Tahjai Teague, Indianapolis Pike, Division 1 Ball State
2015
Rockford Auburn, Trayvon Tyler, Division II Lincoln College
Chicago Hyde Park, Tajuan Agee, Tyler (Texas) Junior College
Indianapolis Pike, Justin Thomas, Division I Northern Illinois
One of the first-team Tip-Off Classic players last year was Christian Negron of Elgin Larkin, who was a junior. The 6-6 forward verbally committed to play for Loyola next year, unfortunately Rockford fans won't get another chance to see him play. He suffered an ACL injury in September and will miss his senior season.
